On the Beat
opens at Museum London
A Tribute to 150 years of service for London Police Services
 

On The Beat follows the Service’s development from a small force of constables keeping the peace with wooden batons to a technologically equipped and highly mobile force trained in the prevention and detecting of crime. On The Beat will include many artifacts collected by the Service over past several years as well as loans from veterans and members of the Service and will include photos from The University of Western Ontario Archives, the London Free Press and Museum London.
The exhibition will complement an illustrated history of the Service to be launched in October.

The London Singers Celebrate 150!  featuring
Beethoven Mass in C - Plus Beethoven's Hallelulujah Chorus from the Mount of Olivers, Mercy Me's I can Only Imagine, Michael W. Smith's Healing Rain, Paul Halley's United in Song, and other solo and choral favourites!  This concert is a special collaboration of musicians from the London Community (the London Singers), university (UWO), high school (H.B. Beal Singers and Catholic Central Concert Choir)  Also contributing to the performance are many churches and soloists from the London area. 
 
The music will be performed with full orchestra in the acoustic splendor of historic Dundas Centre United Church.

London Views and Memorabilia
 In recognition of the approaching end of the 150th Anniversary of the City of London, Doug Flood at the Guy Lombardo Music Centre is displaying a wide assortment of London ephemera most of it drawn from Doug's own collection. Included are multiple volumes of vintage London post cards arranged by theme and location. Each of these has been enlarged for easier viewing. Included also are various yearbooks from Old Boys Reunions, vintage advertisements from London and area business and books related to London's history. An opportunity to glimpse London as it was, and, enjoy as well "the sweetest music this side of heaven."
 Where: The Guy Lombardo Music Centre - 205 Wonderland Road South
 When: December 27-30; 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 Admission: Free (for a donation of $10 or more donors will receive a complimentary music c.d.)

Westmount Shopping Centre
will continue their mural and banner project entitled 150 Years of Living in London.  This exhibit coordinated by Wendi Waters of LaLaland has involved many artists, photo historians and faces from London.
